BCC_CSM 1.1(m)

BCC_CSM 1.1(m)

BCC_CSM1.1(m) is developed based on the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model version 1.1 (BCC_CSM1.1) with a moderate resolution. The major difference between BCC_CSM1.1(m) and BCC_CSM1.1 is the model resolution in their atmospheric component. The atmospheric component in BCC_CSM1.1(m) is the BCC_AGCM2.2 at T106 horizontal resolution and 26 vertical layers, and the land model is BCC_AVIM1.0 with a same horizontal resolution as the atmospheric model. The ocean component and sea ice component are MOM4-L40 and SIS, respectively, with a different oceanic topography distribution from the BCC_CSM1.1. Both the ocean and sea ice model use a tripolar grid, in which the latitudinal resolution is 1° longitude and the meridional resolution ranges from 1/3° latitude between 10°S and 10°N to 1° latitude at 30°S/30°N polarward. The different components are fully coupled with an inclusion of global carbon cycle.

BCC_CSM1.1(m) has participated in the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) and conducted several core experiments. Model outputs are available in PCMDI gateway and also on our local servers.
