Research Interests

My research interests focus on atmosphere-land interaction, land-sea interaction, global and regional atmospheric modeling, mesoscale modeling, and dynamical seasonal prediction. The specific areas of research interests include:

  • Atmosphere-land-ocean interactions, physical processes and linkage with atmospheric dynamics;
  • Global and regional climate modeling and climate process studies, such as climate sensitivity and feedbacks, large-scale topographic forcing in the climate system and numerical simulation of the East Asian summer monsoon and North American monsoon, ENSO and tropical cyclones;
  • Operation of coupled atmosphere-ocean models and Seasonal climate prediction with global coupled general circulation model (CGCM);
  • Analysis on reason of the Tibetan Plateau snow weather process;
  • Analysis on reason of Global Significant Climate Events.

Scientific Work Experience

  • Associate Professor, Professor Assistant at Climate System Model Development Division, Beijing Climate Center. (12/2011-present)
  • Associate Professor, Professor Assistant at Climate Diagnostics and Prediction Division, Beijing Climate Center. (10/2006-11/2011)
  • Associate Researcher, Research Assistant at Climate Diagnostics and Prediction Division, Beijing Climate Center. (11/2004-9/2006)
